December 2024
Added the Set Asset Price feature in Tokenization
This feature consists of two major advantages:
- Streamlined Eligibility: When deploying via Tokenization, you will automatically gain the ability to manage token prices through the UI.
- Empowered Token Owners: as authorized tenant users, you have the capability to set or update prices for tokens deployed through Tokenization.
Screening of Network Transfers
Screening of Network transactions addresses a legacy gap from the beginning of the Screening service - the inability to get address resolution for a transaction going over the Fireblocks network in the early stages of a transaction's lifecycle. This has limited you when using compliance integrations and network transfers, and now, with this new feature, we are solving two issues: 1. We are addressing our key gap around Network transfers which was blocking us from driving up the adoption of Fireblocks Network; 2. We are increasing the coverage of Compliance checks, which was up until now blocking us from having a wider adoption and usage rate of the Fireblocks Compliance suite.
Added Token Allowance Manager
There are currently over 850+ customer workspaces that have some kind of open allowance today. This new feature will enable you to manage and close all unneeded allowances and in effect positively impact your overall security posture. The Token Allowance manager works out-of-the box and all you need to do is navigate to Web3 Access and then to the Token Allowance Tab. Once you move past the welcome screen, you are able to see a table holding all the data for allowances on your Workspace for Etherium smart contracts. You are able to sort them and revoke individual allowances. Once you select the Revoke button it initiates a contract call that you need to sign and once it's released, the updated status of revoked allowance is shown on the table.
Added Decimal Smart Inputs
We now added a new feature for interacting with smart contracts in the Manage Contract UI. Built in response to popular demand, this feature simplifies token interactions by eliminating the hassle of manually appending 18 decimals (or any specific decimal amount) to function inputs.
Tokenization now available in EU & EU2 regions
Tokenization is now available to all of you in these regions starting today. All features from Prod-US are now supported in EU environments, except for the gasless contracts, which will be released once the audit is finalized in the coming weeks.

November 2024
Added a major improvement to our Subscription Infrastructure
We added a significant improvement to how we manage and present customer data on the platform. Starting now, Salesforce will serve as the primary source of truth for all customer account and subscription details.
Added two Staking Enhancements
- Migrating to Figment API V2 for ETH validators provisioning. With this change multiple Figment validators are being provisioned with one underlying API call, when staking batches of 32 ETH. Using the new API makes the validators provisioning process more stable and resilient, reducing failures when staking batches of ETH with Figment.
- Prohibiting viewers and approvers from triggering stake actions,. Users with Viewer or Approver roles will no longer be able to trigger stake actions from the console and will be informed in advance, rather than failing at a later stage (with little understanding as to why).
Added Pricing page v2 & Webstore v1.1
We have now introduced our new Pricing page on the Fireblocks website.
Added Alignment of Billing Service Across All Infrastructures
The billing service, which was previously deployed only in the Prod US infrastructure, is now being expanded to include EU and EU2 environments. This deployment ensures that the billing service operates seamlessly across all infrastructures, providing consistent functionality for all customers.
Added Gasless Smart Contract Deployment & Contract Calls in Tokenization
In some regions the crypto regulatory framework is still evolving and organizations like banks are prevented from holding gas tokens. There's also use cases where companies want to leverage blockchain to develop gas-free end user experiences for their customers. ERC-2771 is a gasless standard for EVM chains that allows a third party, known as a “Relayer”, to hold and pay for gas on your behalf. Two key opportunities for gasless transactions in Tokenization are deployment via the contract library and contract operation via the smart contract interface. We've developed a parallel set of five Fireblocks Smart Contracts that support the ERC-2771 standard (ERC-20F, ERC-721F, ERC-1155F, Allowlist, Denylist), and we now support gasless transactions in the Tokenization Console and APIs.
Added Station70
We are releasing a new third-party backup integration with Station70, aimed at increasing tenant backups with third-party vendors to reduce risk. Similar to Coincover, Station70 supports both workspace key backups (a.k.a. Hard backup) and DRS passphrase backup (a.k.a. Auto-generated passphrase or Soft backup). Also, it supports enhanced self-serve access for you to manage your backups, quorums, and policies directly on Station70.
Added Testnet support on Fireblocks defi Extension
Through testnet support on the Fireblocks DeFi Extension we are now able to expand user access to the Web3 ecosystem. Learn more here.
Added Automation
The Automation feature makes it easy for teams to build and manage automation rules that eliminate manual and repetitive tasks. Our no-code workflow builder lets you configure custom triggers, conditions, and actions to automate daily tasks such as rebalancing accounts, managing account top-ups, orchestrating payment flows and transfers. Businesses that handle digital assets can reduce the time spent on frequent payment operations and quickly grow their business without increasing back-office workload.
Added Screening Service - First block confirmation timeout
Via mempools, Fireblocks is currently able to detect incoming transactions very early, even before a first block confirmation. Once detected, that incoming transaction is sent to our screening service AML provider (Chainalysis or Elliptic), which at this stage still does not know the transaction exists, and as a result screening cannot be performed. This results in a number of failed screenings due to premature registration with the provider. To solve this, we now introduce a systemic First block confirmation timeout that lasts up to 7 days, and which effectively covers almost all cases pending first block confirmation. This timeout enables us to exercise much more precision within the screening process and dramatically minimize the failed screenings.
Added Kingdom Bank Fiat Integration
We have now made Kingdom Bank available on Fireblocks’ platform as a Fiat Provider. This integration enables Kingdom Bank to provide digital asset banking services on the Fireblocks Network. The integration will allow you to make fiat transfers , on-ramp and off-ramp fiat currencies to exchanges, and provide a unified settlement experience and operational workflow for both fiat and crypto transfers. Learn more here.
Added Overage Indication
We have now released Overage Indication for those of you who are approaching or exceeding your subscription quota. This feature begins to be visible to you when you reach 90% of volume utilization.
You will then receive a proactive indication and have real-time visibility of your usage to manage your subscription quota effectively. This feature ensures that you are informed and can make timely decisions to avoid unexpected charges.
Added support for Bahamut
Bahamut is a public, permissionless, Layer 1 (L1) EVM-compatible blockchain that is built for everyone but with a focus on the NFT, DeFi, and gaming industries. Built with a vision to drive innovation within Web3 ecosystems, Bahamut provides a scalable, secure, and developer-friendly environment that promotes seamless integration of decentralized applications (dApps), NFT projects, and DeFi protocols. Learn more here.
October 2024
Added Customer Usage Recording in Tokenization
Until now the primary unit of value in Tokenization was managed smart contracts. We billed you for linking or deploying smart contracts and provided them with access to Tokenization in one annual fee. However, we have not made quota information available to you or automated any warnings, restrictions or overages. For the purpose of broader functionality, we now record your usage relating to linking and deployment of smart contracts by using the Platform team's Usage Service. As their central dashboard rolls out, tokenization data will flow into it.
Added Control Gas Fee on Smart Contract Deployment in Tokenization
We added a way for you to specify gas fees paid during smart contract deployment and ensure deployment succeeds.
Added support for TON tokens
Fireblocks now supports a new fungible token standard on the TON blockchain, called Jettons.
Added Network Profile search clean up
In order to create a distinction between Network profiles you created - and ones we created for testing purposes, we designed a system ensuring all the profiles are properly labeled (client and internal). Network service is now consuming data from License service to ensure we are showing you only customer Network profiles. Also, internal users will only see Network profiles by other internal users.
Added Notabene Address book
Faced with the challenges to confirm address ownership, integration between Fireblocks vaults & wallets with Notabene Address book is now built, so you now have synced data in near realtime between Facebook generated addresses and your client’s Address book on the Notabene side.
This allows you to have the ownership for your addresses automatically confirmed.
Added Native Swap
Native Swap is now available, which allows you to swap securely every time, cut risk, and avoid glitches by managing swaps directly on Fireblocks. This new capability introduces an integration with Uniswap, and allows for same-chain swaps on the top EVM chains (Ethereum, Optimism, Polygon, BNB chain, Polygon, Base, and Arbitrum). Added Off-exchange onboarding automation
We added two features that will significantly reduce your friction and onboarding time to Off-exchange, with a goal of getting down to a single-day onboarding time:
- Automatic Collateral Signer creation: instead of having to log into the Collateral Workspace, find the right user role, get a csr file from the exchange, and send the exchange the pairing token, now every Collateral Workspace is already created with a Collateral Signer user, and we have enabled pairing token automatic pulling for the exchanges.
- Collateral DRS automation: instead of a ticket being filled up for Ops, a manual flow trigger being pulled by Ops, a script being run by devOps, and an email back and forth with Coincover then executed manually by Ops, now, right after every Collateral Workspace is created, a mobile app notification goes to the owner to trigger the process. Once the owner approves, the process is then fully automated all the way to the DRS kit landing at Coincover.
Added a new modal when exporting transaction history
In order to improve our transaction history report generation time and success rate, we have modified the report's export behavior, and set the default timeframe to 90 days if no timeframe is specified. Improved clarity for Contract Call failures
Up until now when you initiated contract calls you sometimes encountering vague “internal error” /"dropped by blockchain" messages when smart contract operations failed. We have now deployed a new feature to propagate smart contract execution errors from the blockchain to our Console and API endpoints. Error messages generated by failed smart contract operations will now be relayed directly to you, providing clear and hopefully actionable information. A new transaction sub-status, SMART_CONTRACT_EXECUTION_ERROR, has been added to specifically identify these errors.

- You can now disconnect dApps. Learn more here.
Added clarification to the "Create a key backup" modal
We have now made an adjustment to the user interface in the "Create a key backup" modal in order to improve our backup generation process. We have cut down on some unnecessary text and added a link to our new article about Generating a workspace key backup package. The article outlines what you will find in your backup package through a clear diagram and also offers a video guide that walks you through the process step-by-step.
Added Error Handling
We have now added the Error Handling feature. This feature came to solve often encountered unclear error messages, leading to confusion about the reasons behind errors. Fireblocks lacked clear BI events to aid in understanding and addressing errors effectively. This solution now empowers you to comprehend errors and take necessary actions; enable us to track errors for continuous improvement; and add BI events for both front-end and server events to gain insights into error reasons. See here for clear error examples.
Modified Co-Signer Onboarding experience
We have now implemented two changes to our Co-Signer onboarding experience:
- To prevent confusion, we moved the API key outside of the setup box. This change prevents you from mistakenly entering the API key instead of the pairing token in your Co-Signer machine.
- We have removed the download button from the Co-Signer section of the settings page. A click-to-copy button is still available.
Modified Smart Transfers ticket
We now cancelled the option to partially fund Smart Transfers ticket. The reason is that the user interface was not clear enough when canceling a partially funded Smart Transfers ticket, so you were expecting for the funds to be returned automatically, which is not the case. The reason for canceling a ticket was a wrong amount that was supposed to be sent by the Network Connection (there was an extra 0 added by mistake) that went unnoticed when submitting and funding a ticket. We now improved the UI to make it clear that canceling a partially funded ticket will not result in automatic return of funds.
Added support for Gas Station 2.0
The Gas Station 2.0 auto-fueling, self-service solution now replaces the previous Gas Station 1.0 model. The new feature allows to use any vault account as a designated Gas Station, which can be used to top off gas from your self-custodial vault account. This allows customers greater management and control over their Gas Station and its fees.
Added explanation for blocked transactions sent to non-whitelisted addresses
We have added a tooltip that explains why a transaction was blocked by your Transaction Authorization Policy (TAP) if the receiving address has not been whitelisted. This scenario occurs when your TAP does not allow you to send transactions to non-whitelisted addresses.
To see the message, hover over Destination is OTA when looking at the transaction in your Active Transfers panel. The tooltip includes a link to the Whitelisted Addresses page where you can whitelist the address before resending the transaction.
Added support for TON
We have added support to the TON blockchain. In this chain, every wallet functions as a smart contract. This capability enables TON users to add extra features to their wallets beyond basic storage and transactions. Learn more here.
Enhanced WalletConnect error messages
We have added more descriptive error messages for failed connections using WalletConnect. These error messages provide more details on failed connections and the steps you can take to resolve them.
Added Whitelisting Smart Contracts
When a Contract Call is blocked by policy due to a missing whitelisted address, we have now added a quick option to whitelist the specific contract address (without having to find and paste it) directly from the error tooltip. In case the address is already whitelisted we will not suggest it, and call out that a change in policy is required. Learn more here.
Added NFT Default Policy
Our TAP now includes a default policy for NFTs. If you use native NFT transfer support, you can now send NFTs to any whitelisted address with no need to edit the policy.
Added NFT Spam Audit Log Support
Our audit now includes "mark as spam/mark not as spam" events, allowing you to have a clear view of changes to NFTs stored in your library.
