Note
The AML integration is a premium feature that requires an additional purchase. Reach out to your Customer Success Manager if you do not have an agreement with an AML provider or you need help enabling the feature.
Overview
Fireblocks now supports Chainalysis V2 for Anti-Money Laundering (AML) transaction screening. This new version includes several changes and additions that can benefit your AML integration.
After enabling Chainalysis V2, you can revert back to your original Chainalysis V1 settings if needed. The Chainalysis V1 integration is currently still supported but will eventually be deprecated.
Differences between Chainalysis V1 and V2
Following are the primary changes and additions included in Chainalysis V2 that differ from the Chainalysis V1 integration:
- AML Post-Screening Policy
- The Risk Score parameter now includes “Medium” and “Severe” risk scores.
- The Exposure Type parameter has been added so you can differentiate between transactions with direct and indirect risk.
- A new template that includes the changes above must be used to enable your Chainalysis V2 AML Post-Screening Policy.
- AML Advanced Configuration settings
- The default Inbound transaction delay is now 10 minutes.
Benefits of Chainalysis V2
- More flexibility in error handling around risk scores provided by Chainalysis
- Support for more tokens (including testnet assets)
- Automatic support for newly listed assets
Enabling Chainalysis V2
In the Fireblocks Console, Chainalysis V2 is listed as a separate AML provider from the original Chainalysis V1 integration. Complete the following steps to enable Chainalysis V2.
- Since the AML integration is a premium feature, work with your Sales representative to purchase the feature or to confirm your renewal of it.
- Contact Fireblocks Support to enable Chainalysis V2 for your workspace.
- Go to your Chainalysis dashboard, and configure your risk settings. Since Chainalysis V2 uses additional features, using your V1 settings may prevent the V2 integration from functioning properly.
- In the Fireblocks Console, go to Settings > Compliance and connect the Chainalysis V2 provider using an existing or new API key.
- Create your Chainalysis V2 policies using the new templates, and upload them in the Console.
- Once Fireblocks Support verifies your new policies, the Chainalysis V2 integration is activated. If you had Chainalysis V1 integrated with your workspace, your V1 policies will be deactivated. You can revert back to your Chainalysis V1 integration by deactivating your Chainalysis V2 policies.
