Provider Prerequisites
- Deribit: You can use your existing Deribit account connected via Fireblocks. Requires providing a pairing token.
- Bybit: Requires signing up for a dedicated Bybit Off-Exchange account. Once signed up, Bybit sends an email containing your new Bybit UID. Log in to Bybit and create a new API key. The first API key must be designated as the "Fireblocks Binding Key." This key is required to connect Bybit to your Fireblocks workspace. Use this information to integrate onto your main workspace as described in our Bybit account guide.
- HTX: The user should use a specific sub-account within HTX for Off-Exchange. Contact HTX to set the binding manually.
- Gate: In beta. Contact Fireblocks Support for further guidance.
- Coincall: In beta. Contact Fireblocks Support for further guidance.
Enabling Fireblocks Off-Exchange
Follow these steps to perform the initial setup:
- Sign the agreement via your Sales or CSM representative. This requires choosing a main workspace to associate with the new collateral workspace.
- An email invite will be sent to all the workspace’s users so they can join the new Collateral Workspace.
- In your new collateral workspace, a Collateral Signer user and a pairing token are created for you.
- To complete the deployment of the Collateral Signer API user, please follow the instructions below based on your provider:
- Deribit Off-Exchange: Contact Deribit Support and provide them with the pairing token.
- Bybit Off-Exchange: The pairing is automatic when you select Enable Off-Exchange in your main workspace for the related exchange account.
- Gate: The pairing is automatic when you select Enable Off-Exchange in your main workspace for the related exchange account.
- HTX: The pairing is done manually. Please reach out to HTX Support to conduct a call for the pairing token.
- Coincall: Still in beta.
- The owner receives a request to approve a DRS kit that will be stored with CoinCover in the Fireblocks mobile app.
- Once the Collateral Signer and the DRS kit are ready, the Off-Exchange feature becomes available within your main workspace. Make sure the relevant exchange account is also connected in your main workspace.
- Select Enable Off-Exchange in your main workspace to activate Off-Exchange.
Onboarding users to the collateral workspace
All main workspace users are invited to join the collateral workspace.
- If you want to be able to sign settlement transactions and CVA withdrawals, you must complete the collateral workspace onboarding process.
- Any users added to the main workspace after the initial onboarding process is complete must be added to the collateral workspace as well for them to be able to sign settlement transactions and CVA withdrawals.
Backup and recovery kits
You cannot personally hold recovery kits for collateral workspaces to prevent cases where locked assets are recovered outside of the Fireblocks wallet. You can store recovery kits with CoinCover.
You'll need to identify the responsible party for receiving the recovery kit from CoinCover in case Fireblocks operations are down and assets are still locked in CVAs. Either a user in your organization or the exchange can receive the recovery kit.
