Overview
Circle Payments Network (CPN) is a cross-border payment network by Circle that lets financial institutions send and receive stablecoin-backed payments globally. You can connect your CPN account to your Fireblocks workspace to access on/off-ramp orders.
Note: Before connecting CPN to Fireblocks, complete CPN onboarding with Circle: register as an Originating Financial Institution (OFI), complete Circle’s KYB verification, and sign the CPN participation agreement. Once approved, Circle grants access to the CPN portal and API key generation.
Configuring your CPN account
To generate an API key from your CPN portal:
- Navigate to the API keys section.
- Create a new key and enter a name for it.
- Select the access level that fits your use case: read-only for querying data, or read & write to initiate payments.
- Copy and securely store the API key, as it will not be displayed again.
Configuring Fireblocks
To connect CPN to your Fireblocks workspace:
- In the Fireblocks Console, go to Accounts > Connected accounts.
- Select Connect Account.
- Select Circle Payments Network (CPN).
- Fill out the following fields:
- API Key: enter the API key generated in your CPN portal
- Environment: select Sandbox or Production to match the key you generated
- Select Connect Account.
The Admin Quorum must approve the new connection before it becomes active.
On/Off-ramp orders
- CPN supports off-ramp orders. For detailed steps on executing these transactions, see Creating On/Off-ramp orders.
- To use a fiat bank account as an off-ramp destination, you must first whitelist it. See Whitelisting new addresses.
