Overview
Reconstructing your workspace provides you with a simple way to verify individual addresses and access all your funds after a disaster occurs.
You can reconstruct your workspace in one of two ways: manually, or using an automated process.
Manual reconstruction
To reconstruct your workspace manually:
- In the Recovery Utility, go to the Accounts page and select + Create Vault Account.
- On the Recover Vault Account dialog, enter a name for the vault account. This name does not need to match the vault account name in your workspace.
- Select Recover.
After the recovery process finishes, the vault account you just created opens. You can see the vault account's ID in the breadcrumbs at the top of the page. Vault account IDs are incremental, starting from zero.
Automated reconstruction
Important
This procedure should only be performed if you have already generated and verified your recovery package.
To perform an automated reconstruction:
- In the Fireblocks Console, go to Accounts and then select Export Vault Balances & Addresses. This sends two emails with links to download each CSV file to your machine.
- Download the CSV files, then find the Fireblocks_vault_addresses_YYYY_XXXX-XX-XXTXXXXXX.csv file.
- In the Recovery Utility, select Import/Export on the left menu.
- In the Address Data field, drop or select the CSV file you found in Step 2.
- Select Import.
Reconstructing asset wallets
To reconstruct a vault account's asset wallets:
- In the Recovery Utility, go to the Accounts page and select + Create Wallet.
- Select the desired asset from the list.
- Select Recover.
This creates the asset wallet in the vault account, which you must then verify using one of the methods below.
- Address Information: Select See Deposit Addresses to view the vault account and asset wallet addresses.
- Key Information: Select See Key Information to view the wallet's public key. In Recovery mode, this option also shows the wallet's private key. You cannot copy either key.
- Create a Withdrawal: This option is only available when performing the recovery procedure. Learn more here.
Repeat the procedure above as necessary for each asset wallet.
