Important
Users must have signing keys to add a wallet. Only users with signing permissions, such as Owners, Admins, and Signers, can create an Algorand asset wallet. A Non-Signing Admin role cannot add wallets. If users try to add a wallet without signing keys, an error message “Signer not found” will appear in the Recent activity or Transaction history areas.
Overview
To add an Algorand asset wallet in your Fireblocks workspace for transferring Algorand Standard Assets (ASA) on the Algorand blockchain, you must first complete an on-chain transaction on the Algorand blockchain. Each additional ASA wallet in a vault account also requires a completed on-chain transaction.
Only users with signing permissions, such as Owners, Admins, and Signers, can create an ASA wallet. Editors with a designated Signer can't create ASA asset wallets. Learn more about user roles.
Adding an Algorand asset wallet to a vault account
To add an ASA wallet, complete the following steps:
If you have already created an ALGO asset wallet to a vault account, you can go to step 6.
- Go to Accounts > Vault in your Fireblocks Console.
- Select the vault account to which you want to add the ASA wallet.
- Select + Create Wallet.
- In the Create Asset Wallet window, select ALGO from the drop-down list. You can also begin typing the asset's name to search for it. Note that you can add only one wallet of each asset type to a vault account.
- Select Add. The ALGO asset wallet is added to the vault account.
- Deposit a minimum of 0.1 ALGO to the asset wallet you just created. Such a deposit is an on-chain operation that actually generates the account. You will not be able to add other Algorand asset wallets to this vault account until this deposit is complete.
- The asset wallet you just created is added to the Algorand blockchain.
After the asset wallet is approved and the minimum deposit transaction is completed, you can create additional ASA assets in this vault account.
Adding an ASA token
- Follow steps 1 to 3 described above.
- In the Create Asset Wallet window, select the ASA token you would like to add from the drop-down list. You can also begin typing the asset's name to search for it. Note that you can add only one wallet of each asset type to a vault account.
- The new asset wallet is now labeled Pending Transaction Completion and requires approval and signing.
- Open the Fireblocks mobile app and select View for the New Asset Approval request.
- Select Approve ✓ to continue. Expand the Issuer field to view the token issuer ID.
- Enter your PIN code.
- Confirm your identity using biometric security.
- The transaction appears in the Recent activity panel labeled Asset Wallet Activation, and in the Transaction History with enable asset under transaction type. You can use the ASA asset wallet once the transaction is complete.
