Configuring your Gemini account
To configure your Gemini account to connect to Fireblocks:
- Refer to the Gemini.com API Documentation to learn how to generate an API key.
- When prompted to do so, name your new API Key “Fireblocks.”
- After you confirm the validity of your new API key, copy and keep a record of both the API Key and Secret Key. You will need them when adding this exchange to your workspace.
- Make sure you modify the following API Key Settings:
- Check Fund Management.
- Leave the remaining options blank.
- If you want to add a Fireblocks IP address to your Gemini API account IP Whitelist, add the following IP addresses: 52.76.208.129, 40.117.39.60.
Whitelisting Fireblocks on Gemini
- In the Fireblocks Console, go to Accounts.
- Find and open the vault account that will receive withdrawals from Gemini.
- Find the asset row under the desired vault account you wish to whitelist.
- Click the row menu to See Deposit Addresses.
- Look for the Permanent address, and copy the address using the Copy address
button.
- Paste the address and its asset type into a new email, and send it to institutional@gemini.com.
Configuring Fireblocks
- Go to Accounts > Exchanges.
- Select + Connect Account.
- Select Gemini, and then complete the following fields:
-
- Name on Fireblocks: Enter the name you want to give this exchange account on Fireblocks.
- API Key: Enter the API key that you saved from Gemini.
- Secret Key: Enter the Secret key that you saved from Gemini.
- Select Connect Account.
Note:
The "+ Connect Account" is relevant only if you have an existent exchange account connected to Fireblocks and would like to add another one. If this is your first exchange account connection, add it by selecting "Connect Account" under the Exchanges tab.
The Admin Quorum must approve the new account to make it available for new transfers from your workspace.
Your Gemini account appears on the Exchanges page along with all managed assets and their balances. Following Admin Quorum approval, transfers are available from your vault accounts, whitelisted addresses, Fireblocks Network connections, and other connected exchange accounts to your Gemini account.
