TRUST (Travel Rule Universal Solution Technology) is a Travel Rule compliance network operated by Coinbase, with member Virtual Asset Service Providers (VASPs) completing an onboarding review before joining.
Fireblocks' support for TRUST does not work like Notabene, Sumsub, or GTR. Those providers each run a full policy-driven screening flow that decides automatically what happens to a transaction. TRUST support covers only proving that you control an address within the TRUST network: there is no automated screening or Outcome policy here.
How it works
TRUST uses a shared bulletin board so a sending VASP can identify which VASP controls a destination address, before the encrypted Travel Rule data itself is exchanged directly between the two parties. To participate, publish a signed proof that you control a given address to this bulletin.
Fireblocks uses Typed Message Signing for this, rather than Raw Signing. Typed Message Signing shows exactly what is being signed, structured and readable, rather than an opaque blob of data, which reduces the risk of approving something other than what you intended.
