Configuring your Bitvavo account
To use Bitvavo with Fireblocks, you must generate specific API credentials. You can refer to the Bitvavo API documentation for detailed instructions on creating an API key and secret.
- Navigate to API Keys in your Bitvavo account.
- Create a new API key.
- Select the exclusive Fireblocks permission.
Note: Selecting this permission is required and will automatically disable all other permissions for that key.
- Save the API Key and API Secret securely.
Configuring Fireblocks
- In the Fireblocks Console, go to Accounts > Connected accounts.
- Select + Connect Account.
- Select Bitvavo, and then fill out the following fields:
- API Key: Enter the API key that you generated in Bitvavo.
- API Secret: Enter the API Secret that you generated in Bitvavo.
- Select Connect Account.
The Admin Quorum must approve the new account to make it available for new orders from your workspace.
Your Bitvavo account now appears on the connected accounts page. Following Admin Quorum approval, you will be able to view available assets and rates, and place onramp and offramp orders.
Subaccount management
Subaccounts are currently not supported for the Bitvavo integration.
Deposits & Withdrawals
Withdrawals
- Existing wallets: No additional steps are required on the Bitvavo platform. Withdrawals are initiated directly via the Fireblocks Network Link API.
- New wallets: For a new destination address, users must first add the wallet to their Address Book (one-time setup per wallet) before initiating withdrawals. Please follow the standard Bitvavo verification process: How can I add an external wallet/exchange address to the address book?
Note on Compliance: Travel Rule verification is not done via Network Link. It follows a separate verification flow, where the user still has to verify the address within Bitvavo. For more information, see here.
Deposits
No further steps are required on the Bitvavo platform; the Fireblocks API handles both address creation and deposit queries automatically. For further information on deposits, please visit the Bitvavo Support Center.
Supported Assets & Pairs
Supported assets and networks depend on your specific Fireblocks configuration and Bitvavo’s market availability.
