This article explains how Travel Rule Support (TRSupport) processes transactions using your configured policies.
Overview
- Transaction input: Fireblocks screening system receives transaction details
- Legal entity resolution: Determines applicable legal entity
- Policy evaluation: Processes transactions using a three-stage policy framework
- Provider interaction: Contacts Travel Rule providers, if required
- Result generation: Creates standardized compliance results
Transaction processing flow
This policy flow diagram shows how the TRSupport processes an outgoing transaction from initial screening through final verdict.
Outgoing transaction flow
- A transaction is initiated in your Fireblocks workspace.
- Screening policy evaluation determines the initial action:
PASS- Immediate approval without further screening neededSCREEN- Continue to provider screening for compliance review
- Travel rule message (TRM) check verifies whether a pre-created TRM exists:
- If found, the current status is received.
- If missing, the Apply Missing TRM Policy determines the next steps.
- Post-screening policy evaluation assesses the status result of the TRM process.
- The final verdict is delivered based on the complete policy evaluation.
Incoming transactions flow
Incoming transactions follow the same flow as outgoing transactions, except the Fireblocks screening system waits for the first blockchain confirmation before beginning screening. Additional inbound-specific rules may apply based on your policy configuration.
Additional processing
Multi-destination processing
For transactions with multiple destinations:
- Independent Evaluation: Each destination is evaluated separately against your screening policies
- Individual Verdicts: Each destination receives its own verdict (e.g.,
ACCEPT,REJECT) - Result Combination: Based on a "worst result wins" hierarchy, the most restrictive verdict across all destinations determines the overall outcome.
- Final Decision: A single transaction-level verdict is applied based on the most restrictive individual result.
