Note
Travel Rule Support (TRSupport) is a premium, opt-in feature that requires an additional purchase. Contact your Customer Success Manager for more information.
Before you begin
- Contact your Customer Success Manager to enable TRSupport
- Plan your legal entity structure
- Prepare compliance requirements for each entity
- Identify which vaults will use TRSupport
Step 1: Legal entity configuration
Every tenant must have at least one legal entity. Legal entities represent your organization's structure for compliance purposes.
You can provide Fireblocks with the following parameters using the Fireblocks API. For more details, refer to the Developer Guide.
Mandatory information
Entity purpose:
- Select TR Support for TRSupport integration
- Select Notabene v1 for traditional Notabene integration
Short name:
- Provide a brief identifier for the legal entity
- This name appears in policy configurations
Scope application:
- Whole Tenant: Apply to all vaults in your workspace
- Selected Vaults: Choose specific vaults for this entity
Optional information
- Full legal name
- Country of registration
- National identification
- Date of incorporation
- Address details (based on IVMS101 standard):
- Street name, building number, floor
- Town name, district, postal code
- Country and subdivisions
Discoverability settings
Configure how counterparties can discover your entity information.
Anonymous (default):
- Counterparties cannot access your entity details
- Fireblocks confirms the address exists on its infrastructure
- Your customer identity remains private
Hidden:
- Counterparties cannot find any details via Fireblocks Travel Rule Network
- Address ownership on Fireblocks is not disclosed
Discoverable:
- Counterparties can access all shared legal entity information
- Full transparency for trusted partners
Step 2: Provider connection
Connect your legal entity to your Travel Rule provider (TRP) and complete the integration process.
- Connect your legal entity and TRP using an API call. In response, you will receive a unique Integration ID.
- Provide the Integration ID to your TRP.
- Complete the connection:
- Scenario 1: Auto-connect providers: Provider automatically sends credentials to Fireblocks (Sumsub)
- Scenario 2: Manual providers: Enter the API key and secret from the provider in Fireblocks
Managing connections
- View all active provider connections for your legal entities by making an API call to retrieve the current integration status.
- Each legal entity can connect to multiple TRPs simultaneously.
- To update your provider API keys, submit a ticket to Fireblocks Support and provide your new API key and secret. The Fireblocks team will update the credentials for your integration.
- Disconnect providers when they are no longer needed by removing the integration with the API.
Step 3: Multiple legal entities (optional)
For organizations with complex structures:
- Create multiple legal entities for different subsidiaries or regions
- Assign specific vaults to each entity
- Configure different compliance approaches per entity
- Changes to entity names automatically update in policies
Important
Renaming entities automatically updates all associated policies.
