Somnia is an EVM-compatible blockchain designed for speed, scalability, and reliability. It uses a Proof-of-Stake consensus mechanism to confirm transactions quickly — typically within 1–1.5 seconds — and reaches finality after 20 blocks. The network’s native currency is SOMI on mainnet and STT on testnet, both with 18 decimals. Built on a multistream consensus design, Somnia processes transactions in parallel to increase throughput while maintaining strong security. It offers full archive nodes with no throttling, processes around 10 blocks per second, and provides easy access to network data through its blockchain explorers.
