Overview
Fireblocks supports Coinbase sub-accounts via exchange connectivity. Connect the exchange, and rebalance securely between your exchange's main account and sub-accounts on Fireblocks.
Important
- If you already have a Coinbase sub-account connected to this workspace, you must remove it and then reconnect it.
- Changes in your transaction authorization policy may be required to support sub-account transfers.
Configuring your Coinbase sub-accounts
To configure your Coinbase sub-account to connect to Fireblocks:
- Refer to the Coinbase Pro Documentation or the Coinbase Exchange Documentation for instructions on how to create a sub-account.
- Make sure you enable the following permissions:
- View
- Transfer
- Add the IP addresses of Fireblocks' international and US-based exchange service to the IP Whitelist: 40.87.67.58, 40.117.39.60, and 52.76.208.129.
- Copy and keep a record of your Passphrase. You will need it when adding this exchange to your workspace.
- Copy and keep a record of the Secret Key. You will need it when adding this exchange to your workspace.
Configuring Fireblocks
- In the Fireblocks Console, go to Accounts > Exchanges.
- Select + Connect Account.
- Select Coinbase, select the Coinbase Pro or Coinbase Exchange tab, select the Sub-Account tab and then follow these steps:
- Enter the name you want to give this exchange sub-account in your workspace.
- Select the main account you want to connect to this sub-account. Remember, your main account must be connected to Fireblocks before you can connect a sub-account.
- API Key: Enter the API key that you saved from Coinbase.
- Secret Key: Enter the Secret key that you saved from Coinbase.
- Passphrase: Enter the Passphrase that you created in Coinbase.
- Paste the portfolio nickname previously created in Coinbase into the Sub-Account Name on Coinbase Pro or Sub-Account Name on Coinbase Exchange fields.
- Select Connect Account.
The Admin Quorum must approve the new account to make it available for new transfers from your workspace.
Your Coinbase sub-account will be displayed on the Exchanges page along with all managed assets and their balances. Following Admin Quorum approval, transfers will be available between this sub-account and its Coinbase main account.
