Overview
If your organization wants a third-party provider to manage its backup and recovery solutions, we recommend using the comprehensive services of our Disaster Recovery Service (DRS) partners Coincover or Station70. You can contact your CSM to learn more.
Workspace Key Backup and Recovery
In addition to our native recovery solution, a third-party DRS provider gives you an extra layer of protection when you need to recover your workspace’s full extended private keys. It allows you to access your assets anytime, even if you lose all your key shares due to a non-recoverable disaster (or in the unlikely event that Fireblocks permanently suspends its operations).
The third-party process requires fewer internal technical steps and does not hold you responsible for securely storing and maintaining your Workspace Key Backup package. The following diagram illustrates how your Workspace Key Backup is generated.

Key Share Disaster Recovery Service
This method provides a secure and reliable way to recover your key share by a third party should you lose access to your devices or passphrases.
The process starts with an Automatically Generated Passphrase (AGP) on your mobile device, which encrypts your mobile key share. This encrypted mobile key share (AGP-EMKS) is then stored with Fireblocks. At the same time, the passphrase is securely encrypted (EAGP) and kept by our third-party vendor. Note that this operation requires the workspace Owner’s approval on their mobile device.
