Based on industry practice specific to Sandbox and Testnet Workspaces, Fireblocks uses “1” as the coin type for all path derivations, regardless of the actual Testnet protocol/chain involved. This means that a corresponding Mainnet wallet, when derived from the Workspace's extended private key ("xPRV" or "fPRV") with the correct derivation path (i.e. the same account index, change index), would yield a different wallet address. This impacts your ability to:
- Use Testnet faucets that demand a "corresponding" Mainnet wallet (with the same address) show activity and/or Mainnet balances
- Use of the "Fireblocks Key Derivation Tool" unmodified with Disaster Recovery Kits generated from Sandbox/Testnet workspaces
Note:
The Fireblocks Recovery Tool supports Testnet DRKs.
