Overview
Canceling a transaction stops it in its current status and allows any associated assets to be used in new transactions.
Important
When you cancel a transaction and see the status "Canceling", bear in mind that this status is NOT final, and that you must wait for the final status - "Canceled" - before resending the transaction.
Transactions in these primary statuses can be canceled:
- Submitted
- Pending authorization
- Pending signature
- Queued
Note
Workspaces created before 2021 or with beta features enabled may not display the Cancel option for relevant transactions. Contact Fireblocks Support to request the cancel feature in your workspace.
When should I cancel a transaction?
- If a transaction remains in one of these statuses for a long time, it may indicate an issue with the transaction. When this occurs, you can cancel the transaction and then resubmit it.
- If a transaction is pending authorization or signature, confirm that all required users are available and have received a notification to authorize or sign the transaction. If a user is unavailable, cancel the transaction. Review your TAP rules to see if you can resubmit a similar transaction or group of transactions that require authorization and signatures by users in your workspace that are currently available.
- Suppose a transaction is stuck in Pending signature status. In that case, all outgoing transactions from the same Vault on the same blockchain will remain queued until the signature is complete or the transaction is canceled.
