Overview

Different transaction types contain varying information, depending on their source, destination, and network. To see all transaction information, including the exact fee and net amount, download the Transaction Log file from the Transaction History page.

Exporting your workspace's transaction history

Go to the Transaction history page and then select Export history.

The transaction report

Downloadable transaction reports include, among other transaction details, the following transfer amount information:

• Amount: The gross amount withdrawn from an exchange.
• Amount in USD: The value of the transaction in USD at the time of transfer.
• Network fee: The transaction fee required by the blockchain network.
• Requested amount: The requested withdrawal amount. This is usually the same as the gross amount except when an exchange limits the number of decimal places that can be stated in the withdrawal amount.
• Net amount: The amount sent by an exchange and transferred into a vault account.
• Service fee: The fee that the exchange charges for the transaction.

Exchanges always charge withdrawal fees. Fireblocks displays the gross withdrawal amount from an exchange, which includes both the amount withdrawn and the exchange withdrawal fee. Gross amounts display because the transaction fee often varies and is only finalized by the exchange once the transaction is complete.

Example

You create a new transfer to withdraw assets worth $20 from an exchange account to a vault account. Fireblocks determines there is an exchange fee of $2 and withdraws $20 from the exchange. The selected vault account receives $18 after fees.

Fireblocks displays the net amount withdrawn from any vault account in your workspace unless the transaction is a max transaction. In such a case, the maximum amount available in a wallet is withdrawn, and the fee is deducted from it.

The Transaction History page displays the gross amount withdrawn from the vault account, as well as the network fee. The transaction report displays the requested amount, net amount, and network fee.

Max transactions for ERC-20 tokens

For ERC-20 tokens, the fee is not deducted from the requested amount in a max transaction, and the net transfer amount is displayed in the Transaction History page and transaction report. For these asset types, the fee is withdrawn from a separate wallet within the same vault account in your Fireblocks Vault, which must have a sufficient balance to cover the fee.

For all transactions on Ethereum or any EVM blockchain, you can enable the Fireblocks Gas Station service on your account to ensure funds are always available for transaction fees.

Multi-destination transactions

UTXO blockchains support transactions with multiple destinations. Multi-destination transactions require and display a single network fee. Learn more about multi-destination transactions.
