Transferring the workspace Owner role requires Fireblocks Support and cannot be done through the Console. Support follows a specific verification procedure to ensure the safety and security of the workspace.
Before you begin
Before requesting a transfer, confirm that:
- The new Owner has the Admin or Signer role.
- The new Owner is fully onboarded, including having generated their Multi-Party Computation (MPC) key shares.
- Your active Policies allow the new Owner to sign transactions.
Important: If the current Owner created a Workspace Keys Backup, your organization should decide before the transfer whether to keep or destroy it. If destroyed, the new Owner should create a new backup encrypted with their recovery passphrase.
Submit the request to Support
Submit a request to Fireblocks Support with the following information:
- The exact workspace name
- The current Owner's name and workspace email address
- The new Owner's name and workspace email address
After you submit the request, both the current Owner and the new Owner schedule a short video call with Fireblocks Support to verify their identities by way of a government-issued ID, and approve the transfer. The new Owner must also verify their recovery passphrase.

If the current Owner is unavailable
If the current Owner cannot participate in the transfer, a quorum of stakeholders from your company's board must contact Fireblocks Support with an official board resolution appointing the new Owner. After Support receives the required approvals, the transfer proceeds through the same verification process.
